DESCRIPTION:Light Up The Dark Run\n\n\n\n\nRoad Races\n\n|   <5km\, 5-10km\, Kids Run\, Walker-Friendly\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe Flinders Island Running Festival started in 2007 as a community fun run and health promotion day and has grown every year since!  \n\n\n\nThe Festival is still very much a community weekend and all participants of any age and fitness are encouraged to join in. There is a generous time cap for those who like to take their time\, but there is plenty of competition for runners who like to test themselves. If running isn’t your thing\, come along and support the events by cheering on the runners\, enjoying the beautiful view\, and having a chat with a local. \n\n\n\nThe signature events are the 5km parkrun at Whitemark Wharf\, followed by the 26km Pub2Pub Run that takes participants across the island with stunning views of Mt Strzelecki. Setting out from City Park the 5km route is open to all ages and all experiences\, everyone is encouraged to come along dressed in pink and walk or run the event.  \n\n\n\nThis event supports and encourages health awareness for all Tasmanians\, and also raises vital funds for Cancer Council Tasmania’s support and research programs. DESCRIPTION:Light Up The Dark Run\n\n\n\n\nRoad Races\n\n|   <5km\, 5-10km\, Kids Run\, Walker-Friendly\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Ross Running Festival is a unique event which runs across the iconic Ross Bridge and around the outskirts of the historic township of Ross\, finishing along the main street to the claps and cheers of the locals.  \n\n\n\nWith a relatively flat course and relaxed atmosphere\, the Ross Running Festival is a perfect event for those taking on a marathon or half marathon for the first time\, with runners receiving plenty of support on each lap of the 10.5km course. \n\n\n\nIf a shorter event is what you prefer\, there are 5km & 10km events available\, and for those wanting to really soak up the atmosphere and beauty of the town\, there’s a 5km walk option. \n\n\n\nFor the younger runners there’s the Ross Runner’s 2km Kids Race. \n\n\n\nThe Half Marathon and 10km is favourite for runners of all abilities chasing a personal best. While the 5km and mile are ideal for the up and coming runner or fitness enthusiast.
