DESCRIPTION:We’re unearthing another trail running gem that’s been hidden in plain sight. This is a brand-new event for 2026! \n\n\n\nThe three Ridgy-Didge courses are dominated by forests of gorgeous open silver peppermint. There is a mix of tight single tracks\, and open fire trails. SUMMARY:Kunanyi Trail Series: Cascade Slide
DESCRIPTION:These runs start at the historic Cascade Brewery Bar\, where you can feel and almost taste the history (and certainly smell!) of beer being made here for almost 200 years. With Kunanyi looming above\, you’ll flow through the gentle uphill of Cascade Track through to open woodlands and then rainforest gullies. Runners then hit the main fire break and trail that protects the city from bushfires. There’s some up and down along the smooth Main Fire Trail before you turn back to the city of Hobart\, and you can feel how close you are to town while still very much in the bush. It’s then onto Slides Track\, where you’ll feel those classic mountain bike switchbacks\, and down to McRobies Gully. As you run along Jurassic Shark (a community-built mountain bike track)\, you will feel the folds of the foothills. The last stretch of the Enduro and Sport courses takes runners back on the prominent ridgeline above Cascade Brewery\, and follow it down gently on fire and mountain bike trails\, all the way back to Cascade Brewery Bar. \n\n\n\nOur Explorer course (Cascade 4.0) event gives runners and hikers the flowing single track\, a steep uphill and fast descent back down. It also takes runners up the open woodlands of Cascade Track. Halfway up the track\, they’ll will drop down to Old Farm Road and cross the bridge\, and head up the steep driveway into the Golden Gully ridgeline (skipping Slides Track\, McRobies Gully and Jurassic Shark).  \n\n\n\nThis is the last event of the 2026 Series and it is being held on Halloween! DESCRIPTION:The Mother’s Day Classic is an annual fun run and walk raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Our aim is to deliver a fun\, healthy and inspirational community event that brings the community together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer. \n\n\n\nStarting and finishing at the Bellerive Beach Play Park\, walk or run 4km or 6km along the Bellerive track towards Howrah and return on the same track. DESCRIPTION:Established in 1973\, City to Casino is the oldest fun run in Tasmania. Held in May each year the event attracts over 3\,000 participants of all ages and abilities. It offers four events across three courses\, providing plenty of choice and opportunity for participants of all ages and abilities. \n\n\n\nThe 12km Run starts in Glenorchy\, at MyState Arena\, while the 7km Run + Walk starts in Cornelian Bay. DESCRIPTION:Entrants go head-to-head against the Don River Railway Steam train. \n\n\n\nThe race starts at the iconic Don River Railway and follows the beautiful Devonport walking track/Don River all the way to Coles Beach and return. \n\n\n\nAlong the way\, runners and walkers are entertained by all sorts of things and can hear the train chasing them down as it meanders its way through the Don Reserve.
