SUMMARY:Flinders Island Running Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Flinders Island Running Festival started in 2007 as a community fun run and health promotion day and has grown every year since!  \n\n\n\nThe Festival is still very much a community weekend and all participants of any age and fitness are encouraged to join in. There is a generous time cap for those who like to take their time\, but there is plenty of competition for runners who like to test themselves. If running isn’t your thing\, come along and support the events by cheering on the runners\, enjoying the beautiful view\, and having a chat with a local. \n\n\n\nThe signature events are the 5km parkrun at Whitemark Wharf\, followed by the 26km Pub2Pub Run that takes participants across the island with stunning views of Mt Strzelecki. DESCRIPTION:The Ross Running Festival is a unique event which runs across the iconic Ross Bridge and around the outskirts of the historic township of Ross\, finishing along the main street to the claps and cheers of the locals.  \n\n\n\nWith a relatively flat course and relaxed atmosphere\, the Ross Running Festival is a perfect event for those taking on a marathon or half marathon for the first time\, with runners receiving plenty of support on each lap of the 10.5km course. \n\n\n\nIf a shorter event is what you prefer\, there are 5km & 10km events available\, and for those wanting to really soak up the atmosphere and beauty of the town\, there’s a 5km walk option. \n\n\n\nFor the younger runners there’s the Ross Runner’s 2km Kids Race. \n\n\n\nThe Half Marathon and 10km is favourite for runners of all abilities chasing a personal best. DESCRIPTION:DIVERGE Skyruns is a brand-new sky and trail running festival in one of Tasmania’s most remote corners. DIVERGE is for runners ready to step just outside their comfort zone. \n\n\n\nThe Mt Lyell Skyrun 50km and the Mt Owen Skyrun 25km are not for the faint of heart. But you don’t have to summit to feel the shift. DESCRIPTION:Established in 1973\, City to Casino is the oldest fun run in Tasmania. Held in May each year the event attracts over 3\,000 participants of all ages and abilities. It offers four events across three courses\, providing plenty of choice and opportunity for participants of all ages and abilities. \n\n\n\nThe 12km Run starts in Glenorchy\, at MyState Arena\, while the 7km Run + Walk starts in Cornelian Bay. DESCRIPTION:Entrants go head-to-head against the Don River Railway Steam train. \n\n\n\nThe race starts at the iconic Don River Railway and follows the beautiful Devonport walking track/Don River all the way to Coles Beach and return. \n\n\n\nAlong the way\, runners and walkers are entertained by all sorts of things and can hear the train chasing them down as it meanders its way through the Don Reserve. DESCRIPTION:The McGrath Launceston Running Festival has built a reputation amongst the Tasmanian and Australian running community as one of the fastest road races in the Southern Hemisphere. Since 2007 thousands of runners from around Australia have come to #RunLaunnie and produce a personal best. \n\n\n\nThe Half Marathon and 10km is favourite for runners of all abilities chasing a personal best.
