City to Casino

RACT City to Casino Fun Run and Walk has 2.5km, 7km and 11km events. The RACT City to Casino Fun Run & Walk was established in 1973 with 199 participants in the inaugural run. It is the second oldest fun run in Australia and the largest in Tasmania. It is a non-profit  event organised and managed by a committee of five volunteers.

The 11km run starts on the Brooker Highway adjacent to the Hobart Showground. Parking is available on the grassed area next to the highway. Walkers are not permitted in the 11km run. This is a RUNNING event. Short walk breaks are permitted.

The 7km run starts on Bellevue Parade New Town below the Brooker Highway overpass. Please assemble at Cornelian Bay prior to the start. It is recommended that entrants in the 7km run be at least 12 years of age on race day. Parking is available at Cornelian Bay however please arrive early to avoid road closures.This is a running event however short walk breaks are permitted.

The 7km walk starts at Cornelian Bay adjacent to the playground. Parking is available at Cornelian Bay however please arrive early to avoid road closures. This event is for people who wish to walk the entire distance. Please enter the run if you wish to run more than halfway – this assists in alleviating congestion.

The 2.5km run is for children aged 12 or under. Adults are permitted in this event only for the purposes of accompanying their children. The 2.5km run starts at the intersection of Salamanca Place and Davey St.
