Tasmanian Road Runners is founded on and driven by the simplest of reasons – a love for running.
How we started
Tasmanian Road Runners [TRR Inc.] was launched in 2014. At the time, local recreational runners typically trained solo, or participated in competitive athletics. TRR was founded in order to bridge that gap, providing opportunities for recreational runners to train together and learn from one another.
As the recreational running scene in Tassie has taken off, with an ever-growing lists of run clubs, races, and parkruns, TRR has evolved as well. We are still proudly a non-competitive run club, but we’re also here to support the wider running community.
Runners supporting runners
We’re here to cheer on Tasmanian runners at all skill levels, and we welcome them into a broader community of likeminded people throughout the state.
We support our community in a number of ways, including:
- Sharing up-to-date information about Tasmanian events
- Organising social events and runs, including our regular Monday Run
- Maintaining a database of running resources for Tasmanians, including local run routes and event reports
- Make Me A Marathoner, our annual program of coaching first-time marathoners
We also support events through coordinating volunteers and TRR Angels & Foot Soldiers, and when asked, offering advice based on our years of involvement within the running community.
Finally… we are more than a club for runners!
Walkers, volunteers, and anyone who wants to be involved is welcome under the TRR banner.
