Make Me A Marathoner

TRR’s annual Make Me A Marathoner program supports & encourages four Tasmanian runners to achieve their marathon debut at the Cadbury Marathon.

Since 2016, Tasmanian Road Runners has been proudly supporting runners to the starting line of their first marathon. Our program includes a personalised 12 week training program, ongoing support and advice from accredited coaches, entry into the Cadbury Marathon, and loads more.

Most importantly, the program will provide participants with an experience that will change their lives and perceptions of what they are capable of. TRR Make Me A Marathoner participants will also have the support and encouragement of the entire TRR community on their marathon journey.

Entries for the 2027 Cadbury Marathon Make Me a Marathoner program open on 27th July and close on 23rd August.

Application Tips

  1.  We love a story – We want to get to know you on your application. Don’t be afraid to tell your story. If you’re not good at writing, take advantage of our upload section to send us a video, voice recording or anything that tells your story in your words (just be sure that you’re covering off on all of the questions!).
  2. Take your time – There is a bit to the application form. We encourage you to block out some time to think about your answers and consider applying on a laptop/computer rather than on the go via your mobile where you might be distracted. Consider doing a rough draft of the free text answers and copy them into the form.
  3. Don’t be too brief – One liners for free text answers are probably not going to cut it. The care you take in putting together your application will demonstrate the level of commitment you’ll take with your training program.
  4. Don’t leave it until the last minute – You’ll have a better chance of crafting a winning application if you have time to plan it out.
  5. Don’t forget fill in all of the fields and hit submit aka “Make Me a Marathoner”–  Yes we’ve had it happen, people think they’ve applied but they hadn’t filled in all the fields or forgot to hit submit. If you’ve done it right you’ll get a confirmation on screen AND a confirmation email from the system. No confirmation email means we haven’t received your entry.

Remember, this entry form is best filled out on a laptop/computer as there is quite a bit of detail that needs to be filled in. You will get a confirmation email if your form is successfully submitted.  If you haven’t received your confirmation email, check your spam folder and if it’s not there then you’ll need to try again.  Good luck!
